Our Beliefs

We Believe & Our Values

We Believe that men, women, and children are rescued from the effects of sin purely by the underserved mercy of God; and that through faith–a relationship of dependence upon Jesus that God Himself gives us–forgiveness and more become ours.

We Believe that God’s Word stands over us as ultimate. In it He gives us the rule and norm for all belief and through it makes us aware of sin, fills us with faith in Jesus, and guides us in faith-filled living.

Crown of Life is a place where we understand from the Bible our need for forgiveness, grace, mercy and that these are ours in abundance through Jesus, our Savior. Even though there are still times of pain and sadness we face each new challenge with Joy in the Lord who lived, died, and rose again for us. Joy in Jesus is why Sunday morning before and after worship is full of conversation, tears, and laughter. Joy in Jesus is why we look forward to getting together for Bible study, small groups, and events in our community. Lasting joy comes through Christ.

(2 Corinthians 4:7–11; Psalm 16:8–11; John 11:25–27)

Crown of Life is a place where we get to use our God given gifts to help and support each other. It serves, honors, and glorifies our Lord when all of us work together to share Jesus’ kingdom. Like a healthy body has many different moving parts and every part is important, so each of us use our unique gifts together to serve our Lord.

(1 Corinthians 12:27; 1 Peter 4:10; Matthew 25:14-30; Matthew 5:16)

Crown of Life is a place where we notice when someone is not with us and that’s a good thing. We pray for each other and are willing and able to share truth and love to support each other. In a busy, rushed world. We make space and time to be there for each other.

(Philippians 1:8, 2:3–5; Mark 12:30–31; Isaiah 41:10; 1 John 4:10–11)

Crown of Life is a place where it is okay to say, “I don’t know”. We realize that until we are called home to heaven we will continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of God. We are curious to study and explore God’s Word. We grow in our faith through time in God’s Word individually and together. We look for opportunities to share our faith with others. We allow the challenges of others and their questions to drive us deeper and deeper into God’s Word for wisdom and guidance.

(1 Peter 2:2–3; 2 Peter 3:18; John 14:15; John 15:5–8; Colossians 2:6–7; Matthew 28:19-20)

We Confess This

I believe in God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

  • The words of the …. Apostles’ Creed, along with the Nicene and Athanasian Creed, have served as a summary of Spirit-filled and scriptural belief since the earliest days of Christianity.
  • They summarize what Christians have always confessed when gathered around God’s Word in the name of God’s Son–and they are the truths that we believe, teach, and confess at Crown of Life.

We are Proudly Lutheran

We are associated with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. To be Lutheran means:
  1. That we accept the scriptural truths that inspired the reformation of the Christian Church in the 16th century and led to a renewed focus on the Gospel. As a result we uphold an extravagant and mysterious view of God’s love: that man is saved purely by God’s grace through faith alone, apart from works.
  2. We believe that God is so loving and powerful that he is actively working through His Word as well as saving and sustaining sinful men, women and children through his mysterious gifts of baptism and the Lord’s Supper.
